Burgerkill is an Indonesian heavy metal band, originally from Bandung, capital city of West Java. The band is named after the American fast food restaurant Burger King as a prank. The band was founded in May 1995 by Eben, sometimes called 'Ebenz', a young man from Jakarta, who came to Bandung to continue his study. In Bandung, Eben met Ivan Scumbag, Kimung, and Dadan. This four personnel became the first line-up of Burgerkill.

Burgerkill was formed in a region called "Ujungberung", located in the east side of Bandung city. Ujungberung is not only known as Metal Village but also known as center of Sundanese traditional art and culture such as bela diri benjang, angklung, and kecapi suling.

In early 1997, Burgerkill released their first single, "Revolt!", which became the opening track of Masaindahbangetsekalipisan various artist compilation album. In late 1997, single "Offered Sucks" and "My Self" were included in Breathless various artist compilation album. Then in 1998, the single "Blank Proudness" was included in the Independent Rebel various artist compilation album. Since then, Burgerkill has been involved in many underground scenes in Indonesia and MalaysiaIn the year of 2000, Burgerkill finally released their first album Dua Sisi under local indie label, Riotic Record. The first 5000 copies of cassette and CD's release were sold out. In the same year, Burgerkill released single “Everlasting Hope Never Ending Pain” for Ticket To Ride various artist compilation album. This single could be something like a bridge for a new Burgerkill era. Old Hardcore bands such as Youth of Today, Minor Threat, Gorilla Biscuits, and 7 Seconds, etc., are so dominant in Burgerkill early works. In the changing process, Burgerkill transformed into modern metal influences. The sounds was more aggressive, faster beat, and energetic power chord riff with more attractive and interesting guitar fill-in. Burgerkill's new sounds style revealed in their second album.

2001-2004 : Berkarat

Burgerkill became the first Indonesian metal band to sign a six album contract for Sony Music Entertainment.^[5] At the end of 2003, they released their 2nd album, Berkarat. It was chosen as "Best Metal Production" at the 2004 Indonesian Music Awards. With their new label, Burgerkill had some negative response from Indonesia metal scene, but they noticed the reason behind joining major label because of the label gave them the freedom to choose any kind of music they want to play. Not only free to choose the style of music but also the concept, lyrics, and also music video style. To "Tembang", they stressed that the important thing was the freedom of music expression itself, no matter if a band in indie-line or in a major label line.

Technically the second album is more progressive than the first one. There is almost none of the straight forward nuance of their first album. In the vocals, they remain settled with depressive dark nuance. Ivan Scumbag, the vocalist, being more expressive to articulate the song, which, all tracks of the album are written in Bahasa Indonesia, Burgerkill's native language.^[ In this second album, Burgerkill collaborated with Fadly of Padi in Tiga Titik Hitam song.

2005-2010 : Beyond Coma and Despair

Burgerkill began to work their third album material in early year of 2005, at the same time, Toto, who have been with Burgerkill as drummer for nine years long decided to depart from the band. This situation was not a big deal to other members. They reformed the line-up in process. Andris, who at the time played bass was replaced to drums, while the bass line was filled by additional session player

November 2005, Burgerkill finished their work, but the deal with label was breakdown. Both side couldn't reach the agreement about album material. In this kind of unfortunate situation for both side, Burgerkill decided to leave the label to release their third album under their own label, Revolt! Record, in August 2006. There's no such a thing fully perfect and always running smoothly. In a counting days waiting to release their third album, Ivan Scumbag the vocalist, died because of inflamed brain disease. Beyond Coma and Despair, their third album title, has became some kind like Scumbag's personal reflection. To honor their past vocalist and friend, Kimung who was a member of Burgerkill and Ivan Scumbag childhood friend, released a biographical novel based on Ivan Scumbag life on late 2007. The book which titled My Self : Scumbag, Beyond Life and Death was officially released and supported by Minor Book as publisher and "Common Room" as venue holder. About 300 people, consist of Ivan Scumbag friend, family, fans, and journalist, attended the memorial agenda. Not only talking about the book, the agenda also held a short acoustic showcase after the audiences gave their commentary and impression to the deceased.

Among the critics, Beyond Coma And Despair was utterly different to their past albums with heavier sounds and more explicit lyrics. The album was included in The 150 Greatest Indonesian Albums of All Time, listed at number 113 by Rolling Stone Indonesia magazineIn the Aftermath of Ivan Scumbag, Vicky joined the band after chosen in audition. In 2009, the band toured in Australia under title "The Invasion of Noise Western Australia" tour. Following the 'Invasion of Noise' tour, Burgerkill performed alongside such bands as Devil Driver, In Flames, Lamb of God, and All That Remains as part of Soundwave, Perth 2009. In 2010 They appeared in Big Day Out.

2011-Present : Venomous

Venomous musical material album revealed around late 2009, to Samack of Jakartabeat Eben told that their new album not too far different from their past one, Beyond Coma and Despair. Eben and his fellow band member felt that the new material album has a new progress in each musical line. European-based band such as Gojira, Hacride, Meshuggah, and Lyzanxia are main influence to them to create a heavier middle beat style. And the old North America-based band such as Megadeth, Slayer, Monstrosity, Cannibal Corpse, Pantera, and Anthrax are still become main inspiration in working on song emotion and the structure. In the vocals session, the band mostly refer to Devin Townsend, Mark Hunter, Björn Speed, and etc. The band new vocalist, Vicky, according to Eben has a strong vocals distortion. So why Eben revealed his optimism to Samack in working on their new album material.

Just few weeks after "Allegiance 2 Metal" tour across Java Island alongside with technical death metal band, Psycroptic, Burgerkill released Venomous in Indonesia around June 2011, Malaysia around July 2011 and Australia around August 2011. Venomous is their first album under Xenophobic Record label and Firestarter Music as distributor. Venomous according to Eben has significantly differences from their past album, not only music but also lyrics. Burgerkill's music style always changes from one album to the next one, but the lyrics in past album remained segmented in a certain theme or topic. That's why Eben said the albums before Venomous are just alike Ivan Scumbag legacy. In the past albums, Ivan had dominant writing to the lyrics, then in the postdecease of Ivan, all Burgerkill man agreed to discuss about the lyrics material to their next albums. In this case Eben little disagreed to people who compared Vicky to Ivan Scumbag. Eben said those two man have different background. "If Ivan said he was miserable, yeah, he was right, he was miserable man..", said Eben. "We don't want to write the lyrics about the thing that we never feel, see, or experience", Eben stressed his words to explain their new lyrics theme, and let the fans have opinion about Beyond Coma and Despair and two album before as Ivan Scumbag's legacy, especially the mostly dark and distrust lyrics.

The Venomous launching concert which titled "Venomous Alive" was held in Jakarta at Bulungan Outdoor with opening act band from the capital city such as Nemesis, Paper Gangster, and Dead Vertical. For the bigger one concert, "Venomous Alive" took place in Siliwangi Stadium, Bandung and attended more than 10.000 of their die-hard fans, alongside with Man Jasad, and Arian of Seringai as opening act and guest performer. Beside these two Indonesia major cities, "Venomous Alive" also rock on other major and minor city across Java Island and other city outside the island, such as Makassar, South Sulawesi

Venomous regionally was well received. Metal Hammer Magazine UK and also Heavy Magazine described Venomous as slightly technical death metal with lots of riffs play. The magazine also wrote if someone took equal parts from Morbid Angel, Obituary, Sepultura, and Killswitch Engage, and he or she should have Burgerkill. In the magazine opinion many other bands like that, but the magazine also praised Burgerkill’s unique in the face military style has them attacking each song with such ferocity and intensity that he or she will take notice

FAITH NO MORE

Biography

In 1981, Bay Area California musicians Mike "Puffy" Bordin, Billy Gould, Mike Morris, and Wade Worthington formed a band called Faith No Man. A year later when Worthington was replaced by keyboardist Roddy Bottum, and Mike "The Man" Morris was ousted, the group began calling themselves Faith No More. After going through a series of singers which included Courtney Love, the band was joined by Chuck Mosely in 1983. The same year, Jim Martin was recruited to replace guitarist Mark Bowen. A four-song demo tape recorded in 1984 led to the band's first real album, "We Care A Lot," released on Mordam Records in 1985.

Within a year the band signed up with Slash Records, and in 1987 their second album, "Introduce Yourself," was released. The subsequent tour brought Faith No More a good deal of press in Europe, but when the tour was over the rest of the band chose to fire Mosely due to his constant drinking, limited vocal capabilities, and squabbles with bandmates.

Mike Patton, frontman of Eureka, California band Mr. Bungle, was a replacement suggested by Jim Martin, who had heard a demo tape that exhibited the long-gone death metal side of Mr. Bungle. Patton was hired in January of 1989. In two weeks he had written lyrics for the songs Faith No More was working on for their next album, and "The Real Thing" was released six months later.

The album was a critical success, and the band toured with Metallica shortly, playing in front of huge audiences. Even so, it wasn't until the song "Epic" was released as a single in January of 1990 that Faith No More's popularity took off in the U.S., thanks in large part to heavy rotation of the video (which even received some negative attention for a brief scene of a fish flopping around out of water) on MTV. Another successful video for "Falling To Pieces" followed. Members of mega-rockers Metallica and Guns N Roses named Faith No More among their favorite rock groups. The band received a Grammy nomination for Best Heavy Metal/Hard Rock performance. By the end of the year, "The Real Thing" had gone platinum in the U.S.

In 1991, following the impressive success of "The Real Thing," Faith No More released in Britain a recording of a live show they played there, along with two previously unreleased tracks, entitled "Live At Brixton." A video of the same performance called "You Fat B**tards" was released elsewhere. The San Francisco band was now playing large venues worldwide as the main act, their unique sound & Patton's manic stage antics a draw for fans of all kinds of music.

With Faith No More's fourth studio album, "Angel Dust," Patton had more time to compose as a full-fledged member of the band, and Gould, Bottum, & Bordin, thanks to the success of "The Real Thing," had more confidence in their ability to create the album they wanted to. At the same time, Martin began to become dissatisfied with the direction that their music was going, and often did not show up at scheduled rehearsals. Gould was sometimes forced to fill-in guitar parts. In the summer of 1992, after the release of the album, its first single, "Midlife Crisis," played regularly on MTV and radio. It was followed by videos for the b-side "Easy," which was very popular in Europe, and "A Small Victory."

The latter, though an excellent video, was almost entirely overlooked by MTV, perhaps because neither song supported the hard rock image of the band prevalent since "The Real Thing," and MTV U.S.A. favors music that is easily categorized. Meanwhile, Faith No More was part of the biggest tour of the year, opening for rock giants Metallica and Guns N Roses. After that tour, on which they received lukewarm responses from fans of the main acts, they embarked on tours of the U.S. and Europe as headliners to smaller crowds.

In the end, there was no single on "Angel Dust that measured up to the success of "Epic," and the album did not sell as well as "The Real Thing" had in the U.S., but it did sell enough copies to go gold. It was even more popular in Europe and Australia, outselling "The Real Thing" in Britain.

By the time the touring for "Angel Dust" was complete, the rest of the band agreed that Jim Martin was holding them back with his lack of enthusiasm for the direction their music was taking. In November of 1993 he was fired.

For 1995's "King For A Day, Fool For A Lifetime," Mr. Bungle guitarist Trey Spruance was recruited. However, once the album was recorded, however, he left the band before touring began. The reasons given for his departure varied depending upon whom you asked; Faith No More maintained that Spruance was unwilling to commit to a long, worldwide tour. Trey claimed that he was ready to tour, but the others decided he wasn't right for the band, and never really made him a permanent member in the first place. Dean Menta, a former Faith No More roadie & guitarist for the band Duh, was Spruance's replacement.

Though "King For A Day, Fool For A Lifetime" reached number one on the charts in Australia, and spawned such overseas hits as "Evidence," the album was hardly noticed in the U.S. Videos were made for "Digging The Grave," "Evidence," and "Ricochet," all songs with commercial potential, but which were virtually ignored by American MTV. A less than enthusiastic response to shows in the UK prompted the band to cancel the second portion of the European "King For A Day" tour, although band members insisted that this would provide an excellent opportunity for them to get back in the studio & start working on their next album while they were happy with their current line-up.

Over the next two years, rumors of a breakup were rampant as several members of Faith No More spent time with various other projects. Drummer Mike Bordin toured with Ozzy Osbourne, Mike Patton toured with Mr. Bungle in support of their new album & released two solo works, and Roddy Bottum found success with his Imperial Teen.

Once again they had to find a new guitarist. "Dean had been our guitar player and worked great for the tour, but when it came to writing, we found that we worked differently," said Bill Gould. They settled upon Jon Hudson, a friend of Gould's and former member of Systems Collapse. The band's sixth studio album, "Album of the Year" was released (June 1997), along with singles and videos for "Ashes To Ashes," "Last Cup of Sorrow," and the electronica-tinged "Stripsearch." Successful tours of America, Europe, and Australia ensued.

In the early months of 1998, break-up rumors spread even more intensely than usual. There was speculation that the band members' many side-projects were taking their toll, and interest in Faith No More was waning. On April 19, 1998 Bill Gould began spreading the following by e-mail and fax:

"After 15 long and fruitful years, Faith No More have decided to put an end to speculation regarding their imminent break up... by breaking up. The decision among the members is mutual, and there will be no pointing of fingers, no naming of names, other than stating, for the record, that "Puffy started it". Furthermore, the split will now enable each member to pursue his individual project(s) unhindered. Lastly, and most importantly, the band would like to thank all of those fans and associates that have stuck with and supported the band throughout it's history. "

In February 2009 the band members convened for the first time in 11 years, and as a result of this reunion, mutually decided to reform the band.  Shortly following their announcement, they confirmed a string of shows in Europe and have now officially embarked on a new path as a band, and a currently unwritten future

Memasukkan Formula dalam Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Excel sebagai program pengolah angka menyediakan fasilitas penghitungan dengan menggunakan rumus. Formula atau rumus yang dimasukkan dapat berupa fungsi(function), operator(operators),atau nilai konstan(constan). Untuk memasukkan rumus pada Microsoft Excel harus diawali dengan memasukkan tanda sama dengan (=) dilanjutkan cengan menuliskan rumus yang akan digunakan.

1. Memasukkan Angka Tetap
Microsoft Excel dapat digunakan untuk menghitung nilai angka tetap. Penghitungan dengan angka tetap sama seperti menghitug dengan kalkulator.

2. Menggunakan Referensi Sel
Microsoft Excel juga dapat digunakan untuk mengitung nilai-nilai yang terdapat dalam beberapa sel. Hal ini memudahkan pekerjaan karena setiap perubahan yang terjadi pada sel juga akan berpengaruh secara otomatis terhadap hasil penghitungan.

B. Menggunakan Referensi Absolut dan Relatif

1. Referensi Absolut
Referensi Absolut pada suatu formula selalu menunjuk ke sel yang terletak pada lokasi yang tetap. Apabila posisi sel yang berisi formula atau rumus berbubah, posisi referensi sel tidak akan berubah. Apabila menyalin formula atau rumus yang terdapat pada sel yang berisi rumus ke sel lain, referensi sel yang terdapat pada sel tersebut akan tetap menunjuk ke sel yang tetap.

2. Referensi Relatif
Referensi Relatif pada suatu formula berbeda dengan referensi absolut. Apabila referensi sel disalin maka referensi sel relatif akan berubah sesuai dengan posisi relatif sel yang berisi formula.

3. Referensi Semi Absolut
Referensi semi absolut merupakan gabungan antara refernsi absolut dengan referensi relatif.

C. Menggunakan Fungsi dalam Microsoft Excel

Fungsi merupakan fasilitas yang disediakan Microsoft Excel untuk membantu melakukan perhitungan yang cukup rumit. Dengan menggunakan fungsi, maka tidak perlu melakukan sendiri perhitungan yang dilakukan fungsi tersebut, tetapi cukup menyediakan data yang dibutuhkan.

1. Secara Manual
Salah satu cara menggunakan fungsi yang terdapat pada Microsoft Excel adalah secara manual. Hal ini dilakukan dengan mengetikan fungsi yang akan digunakan pada sel.

2. Menggunakan Insert Function
selain dengan mengetikkan langsung fungsi pada sel, cara lain untuk menggunakan fungsi adalah dengan menekan ikon insert function yang terletak pada disebelah kiri formula bar.

D. Menyalin Formula

1. Menggunakan Drag and Drop
Untuk menyalin formula dengan Drag and Drop dapat dilakukan dengan menarik atau menggeser fill handle ke posisi sel yang diinginkan.

2. Menggunakan Menu Edit
Cara lain untuk menyalin formula adalah melalui menu edit. Cara tersebut hampir sama dengan cara sebelumnya, tetapi sel yang akan menampung hasil salinan harus diblok terlebih dahulu sebelum dilakukan penyalinan formula.

E. Membuat Grafik

Grafik merupakan sebuah tampilan visual yang berfungsi mempermudah pengguna untuk melihat perbandingan serta pola pada data tertentu. selan itu karena tampilannya yang dapat dibuat dengan berbagai macam model, grafik lebih mudah dibaca daripada menggunakan tabel-tabel.

F. Memodifikasi Grafik

Jika ingin melakukan perubahan tehadap grafik yang sudah dibuat, dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan toolbar chart. Toolbar chart terdiri atas beberapa bagian yang berfungsi untuk melakukan beberapa modifikasi grafik.

G. Mengurutkan Data

Apabila data yang terdapat pada lembar kerja tidak berurutan, maka dapat diurutkan dengan fasilitas sort. Terdapat dua macam pengurutan data yang biasa dilakukan, yaitu pengurutan secara ascending dan descending. Pengurutan ascending merupakan pengurutan secara menaik dari A ke Z. descending merupakan pengurutan secra menurun dari Z ke A.

H. Menggunakan Filter Data

Penyaringan atau filter merupakan cara cepat dan mudah dalam bekerja dengan database. Data yang sudah disaring hanya menampilkan data yang sesuai dengan yang ditentukan. Microsoft Excel menyediakan dua fasilitas penyaringan, yaitu AutoFilter untuk melakukan pentaringan dengan kriteria sederhana dan AdvanceFilter untuk penyaringan dengan kriteria yamg kompleks. Dengan menyaring data menggunakan fasilitas AutoFilter, secara otomatis hanya data dengan nilai tertentu yang akan ditampilkan.

I. Menyisipkan Dokumen Microsoft Excel ke dalam Dokumen Microsoft Word

Microsoft Excel dapat digunakan dengan program aplikasi lain untuk keperluan tertentu. Misalnya, menukar informasi antara aplikasi Microsoft Excel dengan Microsoft Word. Selain itu,Microsoft Excel juga dapat membuat hubungan data antar program. Untuk menyisipkan dokumen Microsoft Excel ke dokumen Microsoft Word, dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan menu insert. selain itu dapat juga dengan menggunakan fasilitas Copy dan Paste.
